osCommerce registered_globals error Print

  • 2

If you have osCommerce and are receiving an error message about registered_globals being off, it's because our servers do have registered_globals set to off in our PHP settings for security reasons.

You CANNOT bypass this by adding 'php_flag register_globals on' to your .htaccess file, you MUST install this osCommerce contribution found below. This is a patch that will remove the need to enable 'register_globals' in the php.ini file. In fact, once it is applied, register_globals MUST be disabled otherwise it will not work.

1. Go to: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2097

2. Read the post titled "README - Which version to use" that was posted on '25 Sep 2007'. It is from the original contributor and explains what to do.

3. Download the contribution that contains the instructions. Look for the post titled "VV 1.5 - ZIP Archive" that was posted on '5 Sep 2006'. To download, click on the brown icon to the far right of the post.

If you are having issues and need for us to install this patch for you, email [email protected]. Be advised there will be a fee for us to install it.
